Light Up the City is returning this summer to brighten up Jackson and make neighborhoods safer! Consumers Energy, the City of Jackson, local law enforcement and various community partners are working together to provide free energy-efficient light bulbs to homes all over the City.
Volunteers are going door-to-door to distribute bags that contain light bulbs, along with safety information, tips on saving energy, and connections to community services. The goal of Light Up the City is to make neighborhoods safer by providing light bulbs for front porches and to help homes become more energy-efficient. Dozens of volunteers will launch into a different Jackson neighborhood each week to distribute the bags and meet Jackson residents.
The program starts June 20 and ends Aug. 15. Below is a list of dates, times, and the locations volunteers will meet to distribute bags. Each walk begins at 6 p.m. Visit this link for more information about the programs.
