With the 2020 elections quickly approaching, you’ve probably seen a lot of election signs around Jackson.
The City has noticed that many of them are inappropriately placed on City property and the "right of way" area, which is the strip of land between streets and sidewalks.
According to a City ordinance, signs are not allowed to be placed in right of ways or parks.
Please only place signs of any kind on private property where you have permission to place them.
The City does not support any candidate for office, so we do no want our public spaces used for support.
It’s also important to note that signs placed close to intersections could block views and cause traffic hazards.
Thanks to those who have properly placed signs!
