Parks, Recreation, Cemeteries & Trails

About Parks and Recreation in Jackson

The City of Jackson’s 28 beautiful city parks, trail system, recreation programs and cemeteries are managed by the Parks and Recreation Department. It is responsible for the oversight and maintenance of all outdoor activities, facilities and land areas located within our community. With more than 100,000 people annually partaking in recreational offerings of our city, the department’s role is increasingly vital to the prosperity of the Jackson community.

Whether you’re looking to create some great new memories with family and friends, or enjoy the green space available in our city, you will find all the pertinent information you need through the Parks and Recreation Department.

Online Registration System

A new online recreation registration system is modernizing the way residents sign up for programs, reserve facilities, and get information.  All available programs, events, and facilities are ready to view on this mobile-friendly site. By creating an account through the website, residents can save information and easily sign up for programs with a few clicks. Rosters, schedules, updates and cancellations can all be sent to participants in text messages and emails through the system. There’s also a calendar feature to keep track of activities.

A link to our online registration system is available on this page.

Follow these steps to register:

1. Create a new account or sign-in to existing one.

2. Add information to your account.

3. Select the programs tab.

4. Select the program you wish to register for.

5. Follow the on screen steps to complete the registration.

Paper forms and in-person registration will still be available at the Parks and Recreation Department. A video on this page explains how the new registration system works.
