[ARCHIVED] Extreme heat in the City of Jackson

 Extreme heat in Jackson

With a heat wave hitting Jackson this week, residents will be looking for places to cool down. Here are two options if you're looking to keep cool.

The MLK Recreation Center, 1107 Adrian St., is always open for residents to warm up or cool down during regular operating hours. The center is open 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday-Friday.

The Nixon Water Park, 400 E. North St., is open for the summer starting Monday, June 17! The pool is open 11 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. ($5 per person) and 3:30 to 6:30 p.m. ($4 per person).

Recreation update: The MLK Center baseball and softball program is canceled on Thursday, July 20 due to the high temperatures. A parent meeting for the program is happening at the center from 5:30-6:30 p.m.
