An urgent water main repair from the City of Jackson will close a busy street and disrupt water service for nearly two dozen homes. The City’s Department of Public Works (DPW) is closing Clinton Road from Lansing Avenue to Monroe Street on Tuesday, March 4 to repair a water main valve.
The closure and water service disruption are expected to begin at 8 a.m. on Tuesday, March 4 and conclude in the late afternoon hours that same day. The DPW expects 20 to 25 homes will be impacted. Letters were distributed to the impacted homes on Friday, Feb. 28 to inform them of the possibility of low water pressure or no water during the repair. CodeRED phone, email and text messages from City of Jackson communications were sent to the neighborhood around the closure area on Friday as well.
This five block stretch of Clinton Road will be closed to all through traffic. A detour will be posted, instructing drivers to use Lansing Avenue and Monroe Street to get around the closure. Updates will be posted on the City Facebook page and the City website.
