A water main repair from the City of Jackson will close a busy street. The City’s Department of Public Works (DPW) is closing W. Morrell Street from First Street to Fourth Street on Monday, March 10 to repair a water main valve.
W. Morrell Street is a major street that cuts across the southern half of the City of Jackson, connecting residential neighborhoods and commercial districts. The closure is expected to begin at 7 a.m. on Monday, March 10 and conclude in the late afternoon hours that same day. The DPW says residents in the closure area could experience discolored water or low water pressure while the repair is taking place. CodeRED phone, email and text messages from City of Jackson communications were sent to the neighborhood around the closure area on Friday, March 7.
This three block stretch of W. Morrell Street will be closed to all through traffic. A detour will be posted.
