[ARCHIVED] Jackson Small Business Resource Fair supports southside development efforts

Jackson Small Business Resource Fair

The MLK Corridor Improvement Authority (MLKCIA) is working to revitalize Jackson’s Southside neighborhoods, and attracting and growing local businesses is a key priority. The Jackson Small Business Resource Fair on July 26th will be a forum for Jackson entrepreneurs and business support organizations to network, share ideas, and find resources to bolster business development. As MLKCIA member George Brown noted, “we want local entrepreneurs to see a future in Jackson. They bring amenities and services for our residents, plus jobs that strengthen our local economy. Helping them succeed is a crucial part of this effort.” The MLKCIA’s multifaceted revitalization plan tackles architectural and environmental enhancements, business growth, residential improvements, and other factors that make communities more vibrant and competitive.

The Jackson Resource Fair will be held from 10:00am to 1:00pm on July 26th at Forty Nine South, a historic elementary school-turned-event space in Jackson’s Southside. Entrepreneurs, experienced business owners, and business support organizations can all participate and share their knowledge to help Jackson businesses thrive. “This is about more than just identifying resources,” said George. “With this event, people with a range of experiences – new entrepreneurs, seasoned business owners, nonprofit representatives – can all come together as a community and provide access to resources that can help with the sustainability of our small business community.” Participants can register online or find more information at www.revivethesouthside.org.
