Another section of the MLK Equality Trail is closed for construction. The pedestrian trail from S. MLK Drive to W. Prospect Street will be closed through July for a reconstruction project.
The MLK trail, which connects to the Falling Waters Trail in Summit Township, is being reconstructed in phases. The trail section off S. West Avenue was rebuilt earlier this spring.
Construction on other trail sections will continue in 2025, which will complete replacements on the entire length of the trail! These replacements are funded by grants from the Michigan Dept. of Natural Resources.
