A sewer repair is closing a busy street in the City of Jackson. The Department of Public Works (DPW) is closing all lanes of S. West Avenue between W. Michigan Avenue and W. Washington Avenue on Thursday, Oct. 24 for an emergency sewer repair underneath the street surface.
The DPW is planning to have the street back open Thursday evening. S. West Avenue is a busy thoroughfare that connects several west side residential neighborhoods to Downtown Jackson and the N. West Avenue commercial corridor. Drivers are advised to plan alternate routes around the closure.
