The
City of Jackson Fire Department invites the community to an Open House at Fire Station 2, 1906 Carl Breeding Way, on Friday, May 9, 2025, from 8:30 AM to 10:00 AM. This event provides an opportunity for residents to meet local firefighters, tour the freshly renovated station, and learn more about fire safety and emergency response, we will be signing residents up for smoke alarm installations.
Enjoy complimentary coffee, water, and donuts while picking up fire safety bags and other swag. Meet first responders and get an inside look at the vital work they do to keep Jackson safe. This event is open to all ages, and no RSVP is required.
After being closed for 11 years, Fire Station No. 2 reopened in 2022 to enhance fire protection for Jackson’s southern neighborhoods. However, to fully modernize the facility, the station temporarily closed again last year for extensive renovations. Thanks to American Rescue Plan funds, the station now features a new roof, improved parking and accessibility, taller bay doors, and upgraded interior spaces designed to better serve firefighters and the community.
Now fully updated and ready for service, Fire Station No. 2 is opening its doors to the public for a special open house. This event is a chance for residents to explore the improved facility, meet firefighters, and learn more about the critical role this station plays in keeping Jackson safe.
