[ARCHIVED] Jackson Police Dept. lobby closing to public during front entrance construction

On Monday, June 28, 2021, the Jackson Police Department will begin demolition and construction of a new public entry into their building on E. Washington Avenue. During this construction period, the Police Department’s main lobby will be closed to the public for safety reasons.                    

“This construction has been needed for many years, as the concrete and underlying base material has broken down over time. The deterioration has now become a safety hazard for the citizens we serve, and must be repaired. We look forward to re-opening the lobby after a few weeks with a new sidewalk, ramp, and stairs,” says Director Elmer Hitt.                    

In the interim, citizens can still conduct business at the Jackson Police Department by calling the number for the service they need:

  • Copies of Police Reports / FOIAs

  • Other General Questions
