Work is beginning to replace outdated traffic signals on N. Wisner Street at the Argyle, North and Ganson intersections. Construction crews started efforts to replace the signals on Monday, Aug. 16. The first phase of the project has construction crews doing underground work to prepare electrical and concrete for new traffic signal mast arms that will be installed at the three intersections. Crews will start at the Argyle intersection and work south, doing work at North and then Ganson. This first phase of the project is expected to take place through mid-Nov.
The Engineering Division expects to start the second phase of the project in Feb. 2022, when mast arms and new traffic signals arrive for installation. The project is expected to be totally completed in April 2022. Drivers in the area can expect some lane closures during the construction period, but all streets will remain open at all times.
