The City of Jackson is working with the Anchor Initiative on a new effort to get the Hayes Hotel property redeveloped. The 10 story former hotel building has been vacant since the City took over ownership in 2004. It was previously used as office space by Consumers Energy and a hotel for several decades. Information about the redevelopment effort can be found in a Request for Developer Qualifications guide. This RFQ document is available on the City website.
The City is also posting FAQS about the project as new frequently asked questions emerge.
Will a Developer have a say on the development design, such as Apartments/Condos, instead of hotel development for the Hayes?
Yes, the City will consider all types of scenarios for developing the Hayes.
Are there incentives to help a development achieve an ROI?
Yes, here are the incentives available.
Questions about the Hayes property should be directed to the Anchor Initiative.
