Here’s what happened at the Dec. 7, 2021 meeting of the Jackson City Council:
-Greenwood Avenue could see a sizable construction project next year. At tonight’s meeting, the City Council took the first step to approve special assessments to partially fund the project, which will resurface Greenwood from Fourth to Morrell. Further consideration will happen at a future meeting.
-An emergency repair of a sewer line at the Wastewater Treatment Plant was approved by the council to make sure the plant continues to function properly.
-Linda Hass, a local historian and author, was named Honorary City Historian by the City Council. Hass has been instrumental in highlighting Jackson’s history as a stop on the Underground Railroad.
-The 2022 meeting calendar was approved by the council, which has 20 meetings slated throughout 2022.
This was the last meeting of 2021. A recording of the meeting is available on this page. The next meeting is Tuesday, Jan. 11, 2022.
