Residents in Jackson’s First Ward have an upcoming opportunity to meet with their City Council representative and learn the latest news from their neighborhood. City Councilmember Arlene Robinson is holding a neighborhood meeting for Jackson’s First Ward at the Martin Luther King Jr. Recreation Center on Wednesday, March 23 at 6 p.m.
Councilmember Robinson organized the meeting to highlight the work of three community organizations.
- The Human Relations Commission is holding its monthly meeting during this meeting so residents have an understanding of what the commission does and how they can get involved.
- The MLK Corridor Improvement Authority is presenting their redevelopment plans and talking with residents about what they would like to see happen along the corridor.
- King Community Homes is presenting their plans on how they are improving housing for residents in the City of Jackson, with a special focus on the First Ward.
The MLK Center is located at 1107 Adrian St. All Jackson residents are welcome to attend.
