[ARCHIVED] Jackson honoring Asian American and Pacific Islander Heritage Month with tree dedication

Elnora Moorman Plaza

Jackson residents are invited to attend a tree dedication event that recognizes Asian American and Pacific Islander Heritage Month. On Wednesday, May 25 at 12:15 p.m., Mayor Daniel Mahoney will join the Asian American and Pacific Islander community by dedicating a cherry blossom tree at Elnora Moorman Plaza.

The dedication event will also feature the reading of a Mayoral proclamation, musical performance by local children, and a recognition of Jackson's Asian and Pacific American community. Elnora Moorman Plaza is located at 152 E. High Street. Asian American and Pacific Islander Heritage Month is celebrated every May across the nation. This is the first time the City of Jackson has held an event to recognize this celebration of Asian and Pacific American contributions to the community.
