It is income tax season, and residents and non-resident workers in the City of Jackson are reminded that City of Jackson income tax returns are due April 30 each year.
Income tax returns must be submitted annually. Forms are available in person at the City of Jackson Treasurer’s Office or online through the Income Tax Forms page. Residents and businesses may also file electronically using the City of Jackson’s Income Tax Online Filing Platform. Returns and payments may also be mailed or delivered in person to the Treasurer’s Office at City Hall.

Who Must File
- Jackson Residents: All City of Jackson residents who earn more than $600 per year must file a City of Jackson income tax return and pay 1% of taxable income to the city.
- Non-Residents Working in Jackson: Individuals who live outside the city but work within the City of Jackson must file a return and pay 0.5% (½ of 1%) of taxable income earned in the city.
- Businesses: All corporations and partnerships doing business in the City of Jackson are subject to the 1% city income tax and must file a return.
